There is a long standing body of evidence that art and craft based activities greatly support wellbeing and provide focus in a social setting. We are fortunate to have several practitioners on our team so have some aspect of this in our delivery at any given time. To date we have run 'A Sense of Place', an art based sensory activity by creatabot, a visual mood diary project, and a range of other art and craft based sessions.

Currently we have art and craft based and activities amongst others on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 pm before our Social Drop In at the Nucleus Arts Heart of the Community Space in The Pentagon Centre, Chatham. Please check the calendar for other delivery and activities.

Participant feedback from 'A Sense of Place' by Creatabot

ĎThe classes have helped me tremendously, they have been a lifeline. I never saw anyone from week to week, now Iím socialising and making conversation easily where I had difficulty before. If I hadnít had these classes to go to Iíd still be agoraphobic and panicky about everything. These classes have literally saved my life. I no longer feel that I have no future, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel useful and look forward to each class with excitement and anticipation. I have made some very good friends at the classesí

If you would like to be involved in the planning or delivery of art and craft based activities or other visual practices such as photography, design, textiles, etc. there are discussion channels on SLACK which can be accessed via the Forum.
